HEAT RECOVERY SYSTEM

GAS-TO-GAS HEAT EXCHANGER

Introduction/What is it
Gas-to-Gas Heat Exchanger is a highly efficient and energy-saving device specially designed for heat exchange between high-temperature and low-temperature flue gas streams. By transferring heat from hot process gas to cooler exhaust gas, it enables the recovery and recycling of residual heat within industrial systems, thereby improving overall energy utilization and reducing fuel consumption.

It is widely used in power plants, chemical, metallurgical, and waste gas treatment industries, playing a key role in flue gas cooling, de-whitening, and acid dew point corrosion prevention. The GGH system effectively enhances heat recovery efficiency and helps enterprises achieve green and low-carbon industrial transformation.

theory

Gas-to-Gas Heat Exchanger operates based on the principles of heat recovery and flue gas energy exchange. It is designed to efficiently transfer heat from high-temperature process gas to low-temperature exhaust gas, allowing the recycling of waste heat within industrial systems. This process significantly improves energy utilization efficiency and reduces overall fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions.

The GGH system adopts a plate-type or tubular structure with optimized flow channels, ensuring uniform gas distribution, high heat transfer rates, and minimal pressure drop. Typically installed downstream of boilers, incinerators, desulfurization units, or tail-end treatment systems, it plays a key role in flue gas reheating, plume de-whitening, and dew-point corrosion prevention. The heat exchanger is made of corrosion-resistant alloys or enamel-coated materials, capable of withstanding acidic and high-humidity environments for long-term operation.

Its core function is to recover thermal energy from exhaust gas and transfer it to treated or cleaned flue gas, maintaining exhaust temperature above the acid dew point and reducing visible white plume formation. Compared with conventional gas cooling systems, the GGH provides higher heat recovery efficiency, lower maintenance requirements, and longer service life.

This system is widely used in power generation, chemical processing, metallurgy, waste incineration, and flue gas treatment plants, making it an ideal solution for green, energy-efficient, and low-emission industrial applications.
