The regenerative thermal oxidizer system primarily handles process waste liquid and reconstituted liquid discharged during the production process of a 100,000-ton/year methyl methacrylate unit. The system can process approximately 9600 kg/h of concentrated process waste liquid 3000 kg/h of biochemical waste liquid, and 1264 kg/h of reconstituted liquid.
The process waste liquid and reconstituted liquid undergo thorough combustion in the incinerator, with a combustion temperature reaching approximately 950-1100°C. The resulting flue gas is then recovered for heat energy by the waste heat boiler and high-temperature plate heat exchanger. In the high-temperature zone, ammonia or urea is injected into the furnace as a reducing agent to selectively react with NOx. Afterward, the gas undergoes rapid cooling, desulfurization, and dust removal before being discharged into the atmosphere.
While achieving the standard discharge of reconstituted liquid and wastewater, the system captures the waste heat generated during combustion and flue gas cooling. It produces approximately 22 t/h of 4.3 MPaG, 435°C superheated steam.
The facility occupies an area of approximately 60m x 30m and includes a wastewater gas stripping tower system, liquid waste incinerator, SNCR system, waste heat recovery system, semi-dry scrubber tower, induced draft fan, chimney, among others.
The first phase of the project was officially commissioned in August 2020, with the second phase completing acceptance in March 2021.
